Originally from the Bronx, I was raised in the projects. I am proud of my upbringing made of simplicity, hardships, and hope. My family is from Honduras. I have lived in Washington, D.C., Los Angeles, and Miami. I created consulting services that nourish good health: mind, body, soul, and social good. As a communications strategist and health advocate, I combine my lifelong passion for public relations, marketing & improved others' well-being & harmony.
My passion is working with nonprofit organizations, performing arts, and creative entrepreneurs spanned over my years of professional experience. Drop me a line, and let's make your project happen.
Professional
She began her public relations career as an entertainment publicist for film studios such as Columbia Pictures, Screen Gems, Lions Gate, Warner Brothers, and independent films. She publicized hundreds of movies for the English and Latinx markets. Maritza spent over ten years in the public relations, marketing, and communications industry and continues to thrive in creating and managing small to large-scale campaigns for clients. Additionally, Maritza worked as production staff on numerous television and film productions in the U.S. and Caribbean. Such film credits include ALI, New in Town, I Love You Phillip Morris, MTV, Univision, and much more. See some of her work here.
To further strengthen her personal development and leadership skills, she obtained the Executive Women in Leadership Certification Program at Cornell University and obtained a graduate degree in Global Strategic Communications with a certificate in Conflict Resolution.
Creative
For over 20 years, Maritza has embraced her creative side as an instructor, performer, director, and choreographer for ages 3 - adult. Disciplines included jazz/funk, modern, ballet, Pointe, and creative movement. Her love for movement transformed from dance to yoga. She is a certified yoga instructor for children and adults.
Maritza is committed to offering programs in self-development, wellness programs for children and adolescents while learning the gift of the power of the mind, body connection, and growth mindset.
Driven by purpose, making it happen has always been part of my methodology. El movimiento es vida. Movement is life.
